TRANSITIONAL PAW PAW LARGE SPEARING DECOY IN BOX
Probably made right around 1929-30 at the time Moonlight was evolving into Paw Paw. The finish has a definite Moonlight vibe; however, the plain pasteboard boxes are more of a Paw Paw thing. The sides of the bait have an olive tone, with the back fading to black decorated with subtle black bars with black & silver dots. White belly paint covers all three weights, and both painted tack eyes look good. Flaked fins and chipping on the forehead and a grade of Very Good Plus. The box is Excellent and is stamped in the right font, with potentially the right model number, as uncatalogued color decoys show up in boxes marked 2812 regularly. 6 - 1/4" Lure Dimensions: Box: 8 - 1/4" x 2 - 3/4" x 1 - 1/2".
