TRISTRAM HILLIER, R.A. | THE DRY RIVER BED RIO GUADALBULLÓN

[ translate ]

Property from the collection of the late Sir Peter Moores CBE DL (1932 – 2016)

TRISTRAM HILLIER, R.A.
1905-1983
THE DRY RIVER BED RIO GUADALBULLÓN

signed; titled and dated 1954 on the reverse
oil on panel
16.5 by 25.5cm.; 6½ by 10in.

Condition Report:
The panel appears sound. There are a few instances of frame abrasion at the extreme edges, with a few flecks of associated paint loss, largely not visible in the present frame. There is a small accretion to the extreme upper right corner, with a small number of tiny further accretions. There is some very minor discolouration to the varnish in places, only visible upon close inspection. There are a number of very faint scratches to the paint surface, largely visible to the sky, in keeping with the Artist's working methods. There is possible light surface dust. This excepting, the work appears in excellent overall condition.

Inspection under ultra violet light reveals fluorescence in keeping with the Artist's working methods and materials, and no obvious signs of retouching.

The work is held behind glass in a painted wooden frame.
