TVR - 3000m Taimar - 1978

[ translate ]

The TVR M-series is a series built by the English TVR between 1972 and 1979. As with other TVR models, the cars from the M-series have a layout for the centre motor, rear wheel drive and bodywork on frame. The carriages themselves were built of glass reinforced plastic (GRP) . The era of the M-series is often associated with Martin Lilley who, together with his father, became owner of the company on 30 November 1965. The first major change to the M series body was the hatchback Taimar, introduced at the British International Motor Show in October 1976 and using the same mechanics as the 3000M. The name is inspired by the name of Martin's girlfriend, Tayma. The boot lid alleviated the previous difficulty of manoeuvring luggage over the seats to store it in the luggage compartment. During its three-year production, a total of only 395 Taimars were built. This intact copy has been renovated in parts. The frame was addressed, the original engine has been overhauled (invoices present) , the polyester carriage has been repainted, the interior is partly reupholstered and, of course, the car has had the usual maintenance. Very nice and not very common sports car!
