TWO CARVED WOOD CUPS, A PAIR OF WOOD 'CASH' SCROLL WEIGHTS, A BAMBOO ROOT SEAL AND A LACQUERED ROOT WOOD 'LUOHAN' BRUSH POT
18th/19th century
Comprising: a wood cup formed as a hollowed peach with a handle formed as a branch with attendant smaller peaches; a circular wood cup with handles formed as flowering prunus branches; a pair of cash-form scroll weights, each side incised with two of the Eight Buddhist Emblems; a lacquered root-wood brush pot of irregular form, with two raised sections from which are carved two seated luohan; and a root wood seal naturalistically formed as a washer, the base incised as a seal with the characters Qiyongbao yongzhi.
