The rounded sides covered in a thick glaze of greyish-green colour stopping unevenly above the foot, one with a paper label for W H Upjohn, no.61, Atherton Grange, each with a wood stand, 9cm and 8.5cm. (4)
Provenance: from the collection of William Henry Upjohn KC, and later Mr Charles Sydney Cheston, painter, d.1960, and thence by descent. Recorded in Charles Cheston's 1946 catalogue as purchased for £18, with a note: 'as vetted by Hobson who handled them 1917'.
