TWO GILT-BRONZE FIGURES OF AMITAYUS, QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)

Each figure is cast seated in dhyanasana in front of a flaming mandorla on a rectangular plinth with hands held in dhyana mudra, wearing a robe draped over left shoulder exposing the right and wearing a jeweled necklace, the face is with a serene expression beneath an elaborate tiered crown partially obscuring the hair which is pulled up in a coiffure. The first figure is incised on its plinth with Qianlong cyclical date gengyin year, which corresponds to 1770 and of the period.

CONDITION REPORT:
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
First:
-There are losses to the headdress.
-There is loss to the proper left foot.
-The attribute in his hand is missing.
-The base is sealed.
-There is wear to the gilding.
-There are small nicks and chips to extremities.
-There are traces of color pigment on his hair and headdress.
-There are a few cracks to the back of the aurora.

Second:
-There is wear to the gilding.
-There are traces of color pigment on his hair and headdress.
-The attribute in his hand is missing.
-There are nicks and chips to the edges.
