351. TWO ITALIAN COLONIAL MILITARY PITH HELMETS | Two Italian Royal-era colonial pith helmets, circa 1920s?30s. Includes a Royal Carabinieri example in light khaki cloth, displaying the characteristic silver flaming grenade insignia over a red, white and green national cockade. The second helmet bears a crowned Savoy eagle insignia and is accompanied by period tinted sand goggles. Both retain interior leather sweatbands and cloth linings. Such tropical helmets were characteristic equipment of Italian forces serving in North and East Africa during the interwar and Fascist periods.
