TWO JADE 'SILKWORM AND ANIMAL' KNOT LOOSENERS, XI
17th/18th century
Comprising: a jade xi carved in the form of a silkworm, the elongated body defined by a series of horizontal grooves, the upper section formed as a recumbent feline, the stone of pale green tone with russet inclusions; and a jade xi carved with a long and segmented body, surmounted by a recumbent goat facing forward, the stone of pale green tone with natural fissures and minor inclusions. The largest: 5.2cm (2in) long. (2).
