TWO PAINTED AND CARVED MEXICAN WALKING STICKS

Mid to Third Quarter 20th Century. The first, probably malacca carved and painted with a displayed eagle grasping a rattlesnake and perched upon a prickly pear cactus, representing Mexico’s national emblem symbolic of their Aztec heritage. The second, also malacca, painted with stylized foliage on an ebonized ground. Lengths 35.5 in., 39 in., respectively.
