TWO PALESTINIAN EMBROIDERED (TATREEZ) SHOULDER RADIO BAGS
Palestine, second half 20th century
Made of white linen with short lace, profusely and naively embroidered in silk with stars, vegetal elements and camels in shades of pink, orange, yellow, green, light blue, red and purple, the presence of coloured beads and tassels, together with cut-outs possibly intended to hold cassette or radio devices, seems to indicate that they were once owned by young ladies.
The larger 21.2cm x 33cm, total height including handle 59.5cm; the smaller 19cm x 55.5cm, total height including handle 38cm (2)
