TWO TERRACOTTA PUTTO PLAQUES AFTER CLODION
A fine pair of terracotta plaques after Claude Michel (Clodion), 1738-1814. Bas relief, one features a pair of dancing Satyrisci or Panisci (Putti associated with Pan) in Bacchanal revelry, other two more classical putto with the familiar wings. Both plaques with incised 'Clodion, Paris' in the lower right corners. Measure 6 x 5 inches and 6 x 4.75 inches respectively.
Condition: Some wear to highlights and toning, no chips or cracks.
