TWO VICTORIAN NOVELTY RETRACTING PENCILS.
Late 19th century. Two silver pencils: one unmarked of cylindrical form with an engraved perpetual calendar, ball finial unscrews to compartment for extra lead, 11gr.; one pencil in the form of a lighthouse, stamped "V.S.", suspension ring, approx. 3.75" open, 2.25" closed, 24gr. Overall condition good, calendar pen tarnished.
Condition Report: Lighthouse works, push/pull is a little sticky. Minor wear at one “window”. Other has some wear from use, and a split at the nozzle end. Corrosion or “gunk” has clogged nozzle, mechanisms do not work.
