TWO WEDGWOOD & BENTLEY LIGHT-BLUE SOLID JASPERWARE OVAL MEDALLIONS 'MEDUSA MASK' AND 'SACRIFICE TO AESCULAPIUS' circa 1775, impressed WEDGWOOD & BENTLEY marks, the first applied in white relief with the head of the monstrous Gorgon, depicted as a winged human female with living venomous snakes in place of hair, h: 2 1/2 x w: 2 1/4 in.; the second emblematic of healing, molded with two classical figures with a snake and insect before a sacrificial brazier, h: 3 1/4 in. (2)
