Each with rounded sides rising to an everted rim, delicately pierced around the middle with a coin diaper band incorporating four lines of the Northern Song dynasty poem shentong shi, the characters arranged in alternating groups of three and two, and left unglazed to reveal the biscuit, above a sgrafiatto band encircling the base, the white glaze with a pale blue cast, the foot unglazed.
