Tabriz 60 Rag Signed - Rug - 157 cm - 105 cm
“What passes is time, but not love. ”
Leila and Majnun fall in love as children, but their families are against the marriage. In desperation, Majnun retreats to the wild animals in the desert. By singing for Leila, he becomes the "harp of his love and torment"; his verses reach across the caravan routes of the desert into the alleys and bazaars of the big cities.
The great romantic epic by the Persian poet Nizami, written around 1180, became the model for all love stories of the Orient.
