Taino Figural Marble Cemi

Taino full figure free form Cemi/stamp featuring a skeletal figure with a lizard like nose. A frog head brow dominated back of head. Figure rests on thin arms and legs, a carving feature denoting Taino carvers mastery of stone. Holes appear next to hands and another set at feet. Base is a curious mix of would be characterized facial elements. Purchased in 1990s in Brimfield, MA outdoor antique market. Cemi/stamps are typically found in the Dominican Republic.
