Tairona Greenstone Bead Necklace w/ Zoomorphic Pendants

Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Tairona, ca. 1000 to 1500 CE. A beautiful necklace constructed from dozens of petite barrel-shaped beads with biconically drilled suspension holes, each hand-carved from mottled forest-green stone with beige, white, and darker green inclusions. A trio of abstract zoomorphic pendants are suspended in the middle of the composition and include a double-ended lizard, a petite frog, and a feline in the center. Strung in modern times and capped with a brass shepherd's hook and loop combo, this is an attractive and wearable example of ancient art meets modern fashion! Size (necklace): 24" L (61 cm); (central pendant): 0.875" W x 1.3" H (2.2 cm x 3.3 cm)

Condition Report: Strung in modern times and wearable as shown. Greenstone beads and pendants are ancient, and stringing and brass components are modern. Minor nicks and abrasions to some beads, otherwise intact and very good. Smooth patina throughout.
