The exterior of the cabinet featuring shapes and symbols made from marquetry technique, mostly geometic but including a single fuku character on the lid top, with a hinged lid that opens to reveal a lacquer painting of chrysanthemum flowers and a multi-sectioned interior tray, the two front doors with takamaki-e painting of chickens and blossoming plum trees on the exterior and a landscape with small boats on the interior, the design on the interior of the doors continuing to the six drawers contained in the body of the cabinet, a single two-handled drawer spanning the width of the body at the base of the cabinet, the cabinet with hinged metal handles on lateral sides and chiseled metal fittings throughout; keys now lost
