Original woodblock prints diptych of actors Nakamura Shikan portraying Takeda Katsuyori and Sawamura Tanosuke as Yae, by Utagawa Kuniaki (1797-1861) . \r
Yae, surrounded by ghostly flames, was the servant of the father of Takeda Katsuyori: Shingen. Also the famous helmet in this print belongs to Takeda Shingen. \r

Fine printing, with kimekomi (blind-printing or 'gauffrage') on the helmet. \r

Signed "Kuniaki ga", in Toshidama-cartouche, on both sheets. \r
