Ancient Greece, Athens, Attic, ca. 5th century BCE. A fabulous wheel-thrown pottery pouring vessel known as an oinochoe with a discoid foot, an inverted piriform body, a rounded shoulder that tapers inward to form the corseted neck, and a trefoil style pouring spout with a spade-shaped lip and a pair of curled volutes.
