Tall Jalisco Standing Nude Female Figure

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built and highly burnished pottery female figure that stands nude atop delineated legs, holds both arms to her waist just beneath perky breasts, and features a septum ring and several earrings on her enlarged head; her coiffure is incised and neatly arranged beneath a hair band. Condition Report: Repairs to head and upper body as shown, with chipping and light adhesive residue along break lines. Abrasions and minor fading to pigment, with scattered pitting and earthen deposits, and softening to some finer details on head and face, otherwise in nice condition. Great size and preservation to figural form. Previous inventory label on verso.
