Tansu - Textile, Wood, metal - Japan - Late 19th/Early 20th century (Meiji period) Exceptional Tansu, Meji period, 明治時代, 1868-1912. Wonderful Tansu with two pairs of sliding doors, two drawers and an étagère. Dimensions: 52 x 51. 5 x 29 cm. One pair of sliding doors is covered with fabric. The bottom compartment is finished in a V-shape running inwards. The middle compartment is an étagère consisting of two levels, ideal for displaying small items (please see example photo) . The upper part consists of cupboard space that can be closed with two sliding doors. A wonderful unique piece, very valuable to collectors. An eye-catcher in your eclectic interior. The Tansu is in very good condition and shows normal signs of wear due to its age. This item can be picked up in Belgium, Antwerp, but can also be shipped by appointment with the buyer.
