Louis Tavenier

Jean-Pierre Tavernier was born in 1714. He worked in Paris in the rue de Bussy parish of Saint-Sulpice and was appointed master in 1746. His sons learned from him and all three of them, Louis, Etienne and Pierre Benjamin, also worked as watchmakers and case makers in Paris.

Unusual verge clock in a gold-plated case with a beautiful enamel back depicting the presentation of a letter or dove of peace

Diamond diamond trim

Original case in very nice condition.

White enamel dial. Arabic numerals and outer dashes. Original steel hands - gold-colored. Signed Tavenier. Dial in very good condition - only slight damage to the edges.

Bezel with cut full diamond diamond setting.

Great back shows a girl handing a dove to a lady. Masterful painting in a fine decorative ring. Finished with a complete set of diamond diamonds. Enamel in good condition. Some color missing in the light column.

Fine work with beautiful verge cocks, florally executed, very beautifully decorated. Fire-gilded movement. Signed Ls Tavenier Paris No I + E 531

Winding key available - at the same time key for positioning the hands on the center square of the dial.

53mm diameter without pedant-with 80mm. Weight with outer casing 107. 1g
