Tea caddy/ box - Brass, Walnut

[ translate ]

A mid-18th century tea chest made during the Dutch Louis XV period circa 1740-1760.
The tea box is made of oak & walnut wood and glued with thick walnut veneer with a beautiful wild flame drawing and refined root structure!
The tea box is decorated with a single border of contrasting golden yellow boxwood and brass frames.
The key entrance and the openwork back plate of the handle are both sawn and filed into shape by hand. The tea chest still has its original hinges and lock, but unfortunately a working key is missing.
The tea box has a beautiful deep warm golden orange-brown color and has developed a very beautiful relief, patina and semi-gloss over the centuries! ! !

A very pure, original and authentic object that will be well packaged and shipped with insurance! ! !
