Hellenistic head sculpture. Around the 3rd-4th centuries BC. Terracotta, and wood base. Dimensions: 16. 5 x 13. 5 x 10 cm (head) ; 27 x 10 x 10 cm (total with base) Terracotta piece, it’s a fragment of a sculpture or bust. This head still has a connection with Greek classical art but, at the same time, shows a large number of remarkable peculiarities: the almond eyes and the small mouth are reminiscent of pieces from the area of Gandhara as well as Egypt (Coptic, above all) , etc. It’s impossible to know with absolute certainty the identity of the person of divinity depicted in the sculpture since it has no remarkable iconographic elements.
