Tetrahedrite & Pyrite Daly-Judge Mine, Park City District...

[ translate ]

Tetrahedrite & Pyrite Daly-Judge Mine, Park City District (Uinta District), Wasatch Mts, Summit Co., Utah, USA "A cluster of black tetrahedral crystals with minor pyrite crystals in association. Largest crystal a little over an inch. Bought the specimen from Peggy Grose [sic]" - Rock H. Currier Although mining in the Park City District has been 'closed' for many years, due to it being part of the ski area, there is evidently a "secret" way into the Daly-Judge that very infrequently results in a few specimens appearing on the market. This one probably came out before that time, when real mining was still going on, and skiing was being done on wooden skis, with no lifts to get you 'up there'. Maybe, there will be more, maybe not. You can hope, or you can go home with this one. Overall Measurements: 2.4 x 1.8 x 1.4 inches (6.0 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from Peggy Gross [RHC #4620, acquired 1984] [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
