Th. Deck Cachepot

A 19th Century Theodore Deck Glazed Earthenware Cachepot. Having molded mask and ring handles at either side, the body of the vessel is covered overall with a remarkable turquoise blue, the rim is decorated with a purple geometric motif, and multicolor floral and leaf designs at two sides. Marked "TH. DECK" at the underside. Joseph-Théodore Deck, French, 1823–1891. Some loss to the glaze at the masks. 8 1/4" wide, 5" high. ESTIMATE $400-600
