The Admor of the Vizhnitz - A Photograph from 1965

A rare photograph of the Admor of the Wisdom of Eliezer of Vizhnitz, 1965. Photographed in the first year of his appointment as Admor.

The holy Rebbe Rabbi Eliezer HaGer (1925-2015), the "Chochmat Eliezer",second Rebbe of the Vizhnitz Hassidic. Was born in Grossverdein, Romania, to Rabbi Baruch Hagar, the Admor of Vishnitz, and to Rabnit Tzirel. Immigrated to Israel on an illegal immigrant ship in 1947 and was imprisoned in the Atlit detention camp. In 1951, he married Rebbetzin Chaya Tzirel, the daughter of Rabbi Shalom Ozer Bruin (1933-2001) .In the year 1965, about a year after his great father's death, he was appointed his heir, This photograph Was taken that year. His brother, Rabbi Moshe Hagar, was appointed as head of Yeshivat Yechiel Yisrael - Vizhnitz.
