The Anglesey Emerald: an emerald and diamond brooch, circa 1900

Of openwork foliate design, centering a step-cut emerald weighing approximately 8.30 carats.

Condition Report:
A verbal assesment from GCS has determind the emerald to be of colombian origin with moderate clarity enhancement.

Emerald of medium deep green saturation, in good condition with some wear to facet edges, moderately included with some natural inclusions and some wear to the facet edges. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 2.75 - 3.25 carats, some minor chipping not visible when worn. Please note that some of the diamonds are loose in their mount. Measuring approximately 38 x 45mm. Overall good condition. Total gross weight approximately 21.0 grams.

Probably the brooch described as a wedding gift to Lady Marjorie Manners from her husband to be, Charles, 6th Marquess of Anglesey.
