The Frontier Knife
This is a standard late 19th century carbon steel trade or utility knife (often used as skinning, camp, or butcher knives), 11”OA with 6” blade. The dark patina and heavy pitted blade indicate it is forged from high-carbon steel. The handle is completely non-standard and handmade. It consists of two rough blocks of wood sandwiched together around the partial tang, secured with an improvised metal disc and heavy pins/rivets to keep the construction tight.
