The Man with the Golden Arm is an American drama / film noir, which tells the story of a drug addict. Starring Frank Sinatra, Eleanor Parker, Kim Novak, Arnold Stang and Darren McGavin, it was nominated for three Academy Awards including, Best Actor, Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, and Best Music. Sinatra was also nominated for best actor awards by the BAFTAs and The New York Film Critics.

Saul Bass (American, b.1920 ? d.1996) was a graphic designer and Academy Award-winning filmmaker, best known for his design of motion-picture title sequences, film posters, and corporate logos. During his 40-year career Bass worked for some of Hollywood's most prominent filmmakers, including Alfred Hitchcock, Otto Preminger, Billy Wilder, Stanley Kubrick and Martin Scorsese. Among his most famous title sequences is this animated paper cut-out of a heroin addict's arm.

This is the only full-size poster for this title to feature purely Saul Bass artwork without the addition of actors photos' or other material.
