Two polychrome wooden sculptures, from the first half of the 18th / 18th century, depicting Jesus and the Samaritan woman. The depiction of these two sculptures represents and concerns the famous episode taken from the "Gospel according to John", with which Jesus has an interview with the Samaritan woman at the "Jacob's Well", for more information consult the Wikipedia under "Samaritan". The two works are still in good condition and there are no missing pieces, they have never been cleaned, so it is evident through the various images inserted and present here, to note the patina with the classic greenish color, due to natural oxidation, above. the polychromy of the colors of the two sculptures. By carefully observing the images it is possible to find a slight and irrelevant lack behind the head of the Samaritan woman, at the height of the hair, also in the past the tip of one of the two feet, also of the Samaritan woman (see images) , was reattached by a professional studio. of restoration, cleaning the two support sub-bases on occasion, to better reinforce them. The two sculptures appear to have been conceived and executed with a very light wood, moreover after a few centuries the same wood tends to dry out, thus losing its lymph and water, therefore its own and original specific weight.
