The Sea-Coasts of France from Calais to Bayone. Described in fifteen large charts from the original done at Paris. London: William Mount and Thomas Page, [c.1715].

The charts in this Mount and Page atlas are reduced versions of the grand plates in Pieter Mortier’s Neptune françois of 1693. The name William Mount has replaced that of Richard Mount, publisher of the 1701 first edition, but no change is made to the charts themselves. The same charts are also found in the 1702 edition of Mount and Page’s Atlas maritimus novus. NMM III(1) 404; Shirley BL II, M.M-12b.

Folio (520 x 321mm). Printed title with engraved royal arms at head, 15 double-page engraved charts on guards numbered in manuscript, no text (light browning, occasional light soiling and creasing). Contemporary comb-marbled boards backed in red roan, uncut (rubbed, losses to marbled paper at corners). Provenance: Capt. Philemon Pournoll (pencil signature and family bookplate on front pastedown).
