This fine title page is in the classic architectural style of the Renaissance and graced the Spain and the Continents section of the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum. The title is flanked by two pillars capped by a domed structure supporting the royal coat of arms of the Kingdom of France after the conclusion of the French Wars of Religion. The Latin title and imprint are pasted onto the engraved architectural framework, as was customary with title pages.
