Theodorus Willebrordus Maria (Theo) Mackaay (Utrecht, November 19, 1950) is a Dutch sculptor, painter and musician.
Since 1980 he has worked as an independent artist, both as a sculptor and as a painter. Mackaay's style can be described as deforming figurative, with sources of inspiration including Pablo Picasso, Marino Marini and Ossip Zadkine. In 1980 he designed the Golden Calf, the trophy awarded during the Dutch Film Festival. The trophy awarded by the BV Pop Prize is also a design by Mackaay from 1984. Other prizes designed by him are the incentive prize for companies in the employment of chronically ill people (1996) and a prize for the Xena foundation (2002) .

In 2005 he traveled to China, where he would work for 2. 5 years, which resulted in several large bronze sculptures.

Mackaay exhibits at home and abroad and has had several solo exhibitions in, among others, Morren Galleries in Amsterdam and Utrecht, the Carlton Hotel in Cannes (2015) and the Amstel Hotel in Amsterdam (2016) .
