Signed limited first edition copy #507 (of 1000), signed by Theodore Roosevelt beneath the frontispiece portrait depicting "Colonel Theodore Roosevelt in Rough Rider's Uniform." Quatro, three quarter brown morocco binding with marbled paper sides, title and author's name in gilt on the spine with five raised bands, top edge gilt, deckled fore and bottom edge, marbled endpapers. Fifty-five illustrations by Frederic Remington, Frost, Beard, Gifford, Sanford and other well-known artists, affixed on the inside of the front cover with a presentation bookplate "To my son Dr. Charles P. Zipf from his father Oscar R. Zipf 3/28 1937, This book was given to me by his Grandfather Bogardus (Zipf)."
