Fifty-five illustrations by Frederic Remington, Frost, Beard, Gifford, Sanford and other well-known artists, affixed on the inside of the front cover with a presentation bookplate "To my son Dr. Charles P. Zipf from his father Oscar R. Zipf 3/28 1937, This book was given to me by his Grandfather Bogardus (Zipf)."
