Theodoro (Théodore Pfeifer) 1896–1973 13me Salon de l'Aviation vintage poster
Caption Brief: "Theodoro's rare lithographic recreation of forward thrust begins with a red propeller but draws us into its vortex with clearly defined wedges of progressively lighter shades of blue. Its minimalism is powerful and eloquent, a vivid expression of the force behind human aviation. Couple this superior artwork with linear and curved text, and the end result is targeted marketing that draws attention to the thirteenth Paris Air Show, which convened at the city's Grand Palais" (The Art Deco Poster, Crouse, p. 40). This poster was printed by Les Belles Affiches, established for Charles Loupot. Loupot left in 1930 to join Cassandre at Alliance Graphique. It's unclear whether Theodoro took over Loupot's role at the studio or was simply one of its other artists.
