Theropod Dinosaur Claw Spinosaurus sp. Late Cretaceous Kem Kem...
Theropod Dinosaur Claw Spinosaurus sp. Late Cretaceous Kem Kem Basin, Morocco This exceptional claw "core" represents the manus, or "hand" claw, from a Spinosaurus Dinosaur and measures some 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) on a straight line dimension. The yellowish-tan and highly textural example has a pronounced marrow groove on both sides and a sinister curvature indicative of what it was used for in life. Claws are much more rare than teeth and were not replaced when lost. Given the size, this remnant was likely from a 'sub-adult' animal. Spinosaurus was actually even larger than T-rex. Visible restoration appears minimal, and, like many other examples, the tip was likely expertly reattached, which is typical for the incredible variety. Measurements: 3.47 x 1.24 x 0.72 inches (8.82 x 3.15 x 1.83 cm) HID09710052018 © 2022 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
