Third Reich 1st Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger with Early DLV Type Scabbard, fine example of a 1st model Luftwaffe dagger with blue leather covered grip retaining the original wire binding. Mobile swastikas to the pommel and in the centre of the cross guard. Officers dagger knot / portepee attached to the grip. Housed in the original blue leather covered scabbard with nickel silver mounts. The rear of the scabbard mounts have the staple covers which are associated with the early DLV type daggers. Full length hanging chains with clip fitting and leather belt loop. Plain blade with makers trademark to the base and issue number stamped to the base '156'. The blade measures 30 1/2 cms, overall 49cms.
