Third Reich DLV / 1st Model Luftwaffe Dagger by SMF, Solingen, fine example of an early 1st model Luftwaffe dagger with the rear staple covers to the scabbard mounts, which is often referred to in collectors circles as a DLV dagger. Blue leather covered grip with wire binding. Brass central swastika devices to the pommel and cross guard. Attached to the grip is a bullion dagger knot / portepee. The scabbard has the blue leather covering and nickel silver mounts. Full length hanging chains with the additional brown leather hanger. Excellent condition blade with much of the original finish and makers trademark to the base. The blade measures 30 1/2 cms, overall 49cms.
