Third Reich RAD-Style Membership Stickpin, Red Enamel Oval

A small oval stickpin with red enamel border surrounding a white enamel field, bearing a stylized swastika above crossed implements flanked by wheat sheaves rendered in black and gilt tones. The reverse carries maker or size markings that are not fully legible. The design motif is associated with agricultural and labor service organization insignia of the Third Reich period.

This style of insignia reflects the visual language of the Reichsarbeitsdienst (RAD), the compulsory national labour service of the Third Reich, which mobilised young Germans for agricultural work, land reclamation, and construction projects from 1935 onward. The wheat sheaves and crossed implements symbolised the RAD's emphasis on agrarian labour and soil cultivation as part of Nazi ideology's glorification of rural life and self-sufficiency. Membership and affiliation badges of this kind were worn by participants or supporters of allied agricultural and labour organisations to denote their involvement in these state-directed programmes.
