EDISON, THOMAS ALVA. 1847-1931. An Edison Botanic Research Corporation business check (no date; c. 1920s), Savings Investment & Trust Co., Main Office East Orange, N. J.; signed "Thos A. Edison" in black/brown ink; 3" x 8 1/4". Also signed by Edison's brother-in-law, John V. Miller as treasurer. The check is written to the order of F. S. Schimerka in Miller's hand, for the sum of $200. Francis Seraph Schimerka was an aid to Edison in rubber experiments. the memo reads "cash advance" and appears to be in Miller's hand. With cancellation punch holes (do not affect Edison's signature). Condition very good. Provenance: Private Collection; understood to have been acquired from Stanley Gibbons, UK/Guernsey.
