Heming, Thomas (British, 18th century), Virtute Allegorical Footed Tray, sterling silver, 1749, London, 12.75 inch diameter, hallmarked with Royal Lion, Crowned Leopard, capital O and Heming's initials on base, weight 33.9 ozt, central coat of arms with eagle above Virtute, cherubim and goddesses along circular edge, the scalloped rim accented with alternating old and young faces, an early piece by Heming who registered his first mark in June 1745, fifteen years before his appointment as principal goldsmith to King George III.
Condition Report: In good condition with minor signs of use, rectangular tarnished section to middle of bottom.
