Condition report:
51.5 x 42.5cm framed
Oil on artists’ board with a label for Winsor & Newton on the reverse. There is a small split in the board at the middle of the left side which has led to a crack in the paint layer. Overall the support and paint layers are in a good, stable condition. There are areas of overpaint present, mainly located in the sky, which are well matched to the original. The varnish is slightly yellowed, glossy and even. On top of the varnish is a layer of surface dirt with brown accretions.
