[ translate ]

Antique fine translucent porcelain plate hand painted with multicolor butterflies and insects in a myriad of poses: a traditional Chinese "Thousand Butterflies" motif that goes back into the 18th Century.
Gilding is liberally used on the background, rim, and as decoration on the butterflies. Matte quality of gold is consistent with antique gilding methods[1]. The plate was created c. early - mid 1800s.
