Timex
Ca. late-1960s-early-1970s

The Timex watch features mechanical manual wind with date window, a new crystal, and is fitted with a new leather rally strap. The case measures approximately 36 mm including the crown. The Buren Watch Co. watch features mechanical manual wind, Swiss 17 jewel movement with date window, new crystal, and is fitted with a new leather rally strap. Buren was a division of Hamilton Watch Co. The case measures 36.5 mm including the crown. The Jonmark watch features mechanical manual wind, and Swiss movement. This is a fascinating bit of automobilia, as well as being a very unique timepiece. The case is made to resemble part of a spark plug and the dial features the CHAMPION logo and colors, which are carried over to the original band with white, red, and black tri-color striping. The hour hand is made in the shape of a spark plug and details are picked out with a little black and white paint. The case measures 46 mm x 38 mm, plus extra for the crown. The band is a little worn, consistent with its age. These watches were not available to the general public. They were used for in-house company promotions, awards, and as gifts to company executives and VIPs. It is believed that these were Champion promotional watches for the European and UK market. These watches come in a three-place wood display box. Additionally, a vintage Champion spark plug pocket knife in original box, and vintage Champion spark plug set of cufflinks and tie clip (each with a miniature spark plug) still in the original plastic box, are included.
