Three Chinese Carved Soapstone Guan Yu and Guanyin Figurines

A trio of Chinese hand-carved soapstone figurines featuring a central representation of the deity Guan Yu flanked by two smaller figurines of Guanyin. The Guan Yu figurine is carved from a dark, variegated brown-to-black soapstone, depicted in traditional armor with a long beard and a scholar cap. Guanyin figurines are rendered in a lighter celadon-toned soapstone with reddish inclusions, shown standing on lotus-motif bases; one holds a ruyi scepter while the other holds a vessel. The underside of the central black base bears a handwritten inscription in black marker reading Taiwan 1970.
