South Africa 1877-79, 1 clasp, 1879 (Condr. J. Fletcher. Commissariat.); Egypt & Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, no clasp (C of Supls. J. Fletcher. C & T. Staff.); Khedive's Star, dated 1882, impressed on the reverse (J. Fletcher. C & T. Staff.) and additionally engraved (J. F.) contact marks to the first two and two small drill holes at the base of the third for mounting purposes, otherwise very fine (3)

J. Fletcher is confirmed as one of 31 Conductors of Supplies who served in the South African campaign of 1879, and is noted as having performed various and arduous general duties over a wide extent of territory, and by their zeal and ability materially conduced to the successful carrying out of the plans of the Head of the Department.
