Three Damascus underglaze-painted pottery tiles
Syria, 16th and 17th Century
each of rectangular form, decorated in cobalt blue, green and black on a white ground, two with a central lobed cartouche containing palmettes, on a ground of scrolling floral and split palmette vines, partial flowerheads to either end, with green border to one long edge; the third with split palmette and floral interlace
the largest 22.9 x 11.1 cm.(3)
