China, Qing dynasty (1644-1911) Of rectangular form on four post feet, protruding top with both ends terminating in upward curled finials The front with three drawers above a pair of folding cabinet doors Each drawer affixed with metallic circular panels complete with ruyi-head handles and locks The wings with lobed finials depicting a lush growth of lotus flowers Empty interior The wood of vivid red-brown color and with beautiful natural grain An enclosed wood expert report proves that this piece of furniture is made of Pterocarpus ssp.
